Sunday, March 24 the nZone’s Neil Ehrlich’s American Karate sponsored the 2^nd Annual ‘Martial

Arts Experience’ Friendship Tournament. One hundred forty-three competitors from twenty-three martial arts schools came for this challenging competition.

All styles of martial arts were represented with athletes coming from as far away as Abingdon, VA. (think Tennessee)

Martial artists as young as five years old were competing in one ring, while world class junior and adult Black Belts were demonstrating their skills a few rings away.

The nZone’s athletes did quite well with seven year old Abby Maguire winning bopper sparring and placing as a finalist in form and her team-mate Will Alexander was a finalist in form and bopper sparring. Black Belts Hiroki Cook (3^rd sparring, 3^rd form), Daniel Richardson ( 2^nd sparring, 2^nd form), Claire Spina (1^st sparring, form, weapon), and Coach Jake Ehrlich (1^st sparring, form, weapon) rounded out the n/Zone American Karate winners.

Master Coach Ehrlich would like to thank his tournament staff and the nZone for their excellent support in making this event successful.

nZone Neil Ehrlich’s American Karate senior coach Jimi Wilson’s first place, unanimous decision win in the 54kg. full contact division at the Irish Open. Jimi was the only full contact fighter from the USA and one of only two USA gold medalists at the Irish Open.

He was not sponsored. He trained his butt off for this competition going to Ireland, with no coach or corner man, at his own expense. A true martial arts competitor.

Special thanks to the Danish team coach for working his corner. Enjoy the fight!

Coach Jimi wins Irish Open

Dublin, March 1-3, 2013, the largest martial arts tournament in the world, The Irish Open, was held. With over 2,500 competitors vying for championships, in a variety of martial arts disciplines, the nZone Neil Ehrlich’s American Karate senior coach Jimi Wilson fought for, and won, the -54 kg. full contact championship. Using his evasive movement, strong kicks and fast hand combinations Coach Jimi dominated his Irish opponent (including one knock down) over the three round championship bout. Congratulations on this prestigious win!

February, 9, Virginia Beach, VA, nZone/ Neil Ehrlich’s American Karate Senior Coach Jimi Wilson (123 lb.) wins a unanimous decision in the 135 lb. division.
