Take Pilates! Improve your posture. Strengthen your core. Develop your balance.
Many people think Pilates and Yoga are similar but they are very different. Both popular forms of exercise are fun and have tremendous physical and health benefits, but each format is unique in how you engage in the workout.
Try each class and see which one you like best!
Pilates integrates breathing while focusing on full-body strength and fitness with attention to the core. It lengthens and strengthens the spine using resistance and alleviates stress on the lower back. It’s a great foundation for athletes and is often recommended for rehabilitation after surgery or injury. Slow and controlled movements put a minimal impact on your joints and unlike yoga, you don’t hold poses for long periods of time or repeat movements within a class. It’s great for beginners, seniors just starting to exercise, elite athletes or anywhere in between.
You’ll see significant improvement in your balance. The core activation strengthens your pelvic and abdominal muscles to make your body look lean and toned. If you practice Pilates regularly it will improve your mobility and posture, lengthening your spinal column and helping you rotate and move with ease and grace. Pilates will change your body! Combined with aerobic activity, Pilates is a great weight loss and body toning exercise format. Try it today!

“I joined The nZone last October at a friend’s urging, and I’m really happy. I started out doing Zumba on Saturdays with Tolkila, which I love. The real difference though was when Travis started teaching Maxed Out on Tuesday and Thursday. That class has dramatically changed my fitness level and enthusiasm. He continues to change it up every few weeks. Last week I was off for the Fourth of July, and tried yoga and Pilates. I just loved the yoga. Trish is fantastic. Anytime I am off work on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday I will take that class. Travis also emailed me a personalized workout plan for my arms and shoulders, so I fit that in before or after classes when I can.”
