Kumdo means “the way of the sword” and you can learn this modern art form of sword fighting derived from the Japanese Kendo that was developed more than 2,000 years ago.  Used by warriors to defend their country, Kumdo is classical, full-contact martial arts using both sparring and forms and is great for any age, size or gender. 

When: 

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Keg Room Starting July 23rd
8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each week

What: 

A jukdo (bamboo sword) and a uniform are included in the cost of the class.  Kumdo Armor is offered at an additional cost later in your training.  You’ll learn the timing and skill of swordsmanship and the precise, quick, controlled movements involved in sparring.  You’ll practice self-awareness, acute observation and perseverance as you study the art and practice the motions.  You’ll start with basic stances, blocks, and cuts before moving into patterns and sparring.  

Memberships:

           
Following the one-month trial, memberships are available for $150 per month with a one-year contract or $1500 per year.   Family rates apply!  After first registration, the second family member receives a 25% discount and any additional family members receive a 50% discount.
