Level Up your Field Trip at The Nzone
Looking for a fun, educational experience in the Chantilly area? We host school groups, homeschool co-ops, preschool and daycares, scouting groups, and other organizations for hands-on workshops and active play.
- 50 Minutes: Expert-led, high-quality science instruction
- 30 Minutes: Lunch in a designated indoor space (tables and chairs provided)
- 30 Minutes: Active play on the field
Availability: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Workshop Options
Slime Labs
Explore molecular chemistry and non-Newtonian fluids in this hands-on workshop where students become “slime scientists.” By mixing, stretching, and squishing their way through, learners discover the physics of non-Newtonian fluids and the chemical process of cross-linking that transforms liquid glue into gooey solids.
COSMOS & Kinisieology
- Mission Space: Imagining the distances in space between Earth and our cosmic neighbors can be difficult. This activity allows participants to build a scale model of the distances using a roll of toilet paper on our fields!
- Bernoulli Principle in Sports: Participants will explore air pressure and discover how it affects movement, performance, and equipment behavior.
Storybook STEM
Stories come alive as a staff member reads a children’s book, chosen to match the season, and a STEM-based activity. Every season unfolds a new tale and a new adventure, making each trip unique.
For the Spring, StoryBook STEM, students explore the hidden world beneath their feet through the picture book Carl and the Meaning of Life or The Very Busy Spider
